FH. FM. FMX. FE. FL.

Euro 5 and Euro 6. Any age, any kilometres, any condition.

Volvo is the most common tractor unit on UK roads. End-of-contract FH artics. FM rigids coming off fleet. FMX tippers and construction spec units. FE and FL distribution trucks. Running or non-running.

If it’s a Volvo and it’s sat there — send it over.

Sunflower Trucks Volvo Buyers

What We Pay For

The Volvo FH has strong export demand — particularly Globetrotter and Globetrotter XL cabs with I-Shift gearboxes and D13 engines. These are the specs buyers look for and we price them properly. FM and FMX models move well in the UK market. High kilometres, DPF faults, AdBlue issues, body damage — none of it puts us off. Nearly new fleet units to older high-mileage rigids — we buy both ends of the spectrum.

Why Operators Sell Direct To Us

Auctions take time and cost money. Dealer part-ex routes are slow and selective. We offer a direct alternative — one conversation, straight offer, done. Price agreed is price paid. No renegotiation on collection day. Whether you are moving on a single Volvo or clearing a full fleet — we handle both the same way. Fast. Simple. Straight.

Volvo Models We Buy

Volvo FH — the long-haul flagship. We buy FH 420, 460, 500, 540 and the latest FH16 750 hp units. Globetrotter and Globetrotter XL cabs carry the strongest premium. I-Shift gearbox is standard from 2014 onwards and adds value. D13K Euro 6 engines run cleanly to 1.2 million km when serviced — we buy these every week. FH16 V8 units are rarer and command a real premium for export.

Volvo FM — the all-rounder. FM 330, 370, 410, 460 across 6x2, 8x4 and tractor configurations. Tipper, hookloader, refuse, mixer spec all welcome. FM 410 8x4 tippers especially in demand for UK construction. Day cab or Sleeper cab — both move well in the UK and export market.

Volvo FMX — the construction specialist. FMX 420, 460, 500 in 8x4, 8x6, 6x6 spec. Quarry tippers, mixers, hookloaders, plant carriers. Heavy-duty front axles and reinforced chassis make FMX trucks worth more than equivalent FM units. Strong export demand to Africa and Middle East for plant work.

Volvo FE and FL — the urban distribution range. FE 250, 280, 320 and FL 210, 240, 280 hp. Box trucks, curtainsiders, refuse, refrigerated, tail-lift spec. Lower mileage Euro 6 FE units especially with Carrier or Thermo King fridges hold strong value. We buy these for UK home-delivery and last-mile fleets.

What Makes a Volvo Worth More

We don't lowball — but we DO assess realistically. Here's what bumps the price up on a Volvo:

  • Lower kilometres for age — under 100k/year average is solid. A 5-year-old FH with 400k km is worth more than a 5-year-old FH with 700k km.
  • Service history with named Volvo dealer — even partial. Buyers pay extra for confidence.
  • Globetrotter or Globetrotter XL cab — bigger cab equals more value, especially for export.
  • I-Shift gearbox — standard now, but well-maintained units with no fault codes add real money.
  • Recent MOT and tax — saves the next owner time. Adds a few hundred typically.
  • I-See, I-Save, lane keep — modern driver-aid spec moves trucks faster, especially to UK fleets.
  • One-owner units — even if high mileage, single-owner trucks command premium.
  • Recent EGR or AdBlue service — known wear area, recent paperwork de-risks the buy.

Common Volvo Faults We Still Buy

Don't bin a truck because something's broken. We buy Volvo trucks with:

  • EGR cooler leaks — common on D13K Euro 6 from 2014 onwards. Workshop fix is real but factored in.
  • AdBlue dosing module faults — typical 300k-500k km issue. Doesn't put us off.
  • DPF regen problems — forced regen needed, blocked filter, P2002 codes. We still pay properly.
  • I-Shift clutch wear — jerky engagement, slipping clutch packs. Common after 600k km, fixable.
  • Turbo failures — particularly D11 and D13 early Euro 6. We buy non-runners weekly.
  • SCR system warnings — NOx sensor faults, dosing valve failures. None of it stops us buying.
  • Cab tilt or hydraulic issues — pump leaks, slow tilt. Small fix, full price still possible.
  • Accident damage — front-end, side, rear, even rollover. We price the salvage value properly.
  • Non-runners parked up for months — flat batteries, seized brakes, partially stripped. We collect.

Send photos by WhatsApp or email — we'll come back with a price within hours.

Why Volvo Holds Value

Volvo sits with DAF at the top of the UK HGV market. That dominance translates directly into resale strength.

Parts availability. The Volvo Truck Centre network covers the UK and parts supply is reliable. Repair costs stay reasonable, which keeps demand strong.

Export demand. Volvo trucks ship in volume to Africa, Eastern Europe, Pakistan and the Middle East — FH and FMX especially. We deal with export buyers daily and that gives us a price floor UK-only buyers can't match.

Driver demand. Drivers ask for Volvos. The cab, the I-Shift, the ride — they're the easiest trucks to recruit drivers onto, which means fleet operators pay a premium to buy used Volvos.

Long engine life. D13K and D11K engines run reliably to 1.2 million km when serviced. Even high-mileage units have years of life left, which keeps resale strong.

Volvo Truck Buyer FAQs

How quickly can you collect my Volvo?
Same day in some cases, usually within 48-72 hours of price agreed. Free collection from anywhere in mainland UK.

Will you buy a Volvo that won't start?
Yes. Non-runners, turbo failures, EGR faults, suspected gearbox — we buy all of it. Send photos and a description.

Do you only buy newer Volvos?
No — we buy Volvo trucks from 2010 onwards in the right condition. Older trucks if they're spec we can move (export market).

What if my Volvo has been off the road for months?
Doesn't matter. Most parked-up trucks just need a battery and a fluid check. We've collected Volvos that haven't moved in 2+ years.

Can you buy a fleet of Volvos in one go?
Yes — we regularly buy 5-50 trucks from operators downsizing or restructuring. Single price for the lot, collected over a week.

What documents do I need?
V5C (logbook) is essential. MOT certificate and service history help us value better but aren't mandatory. We handle the change-of-ownership paperwork.

How do you price a Volvo compared to part-exchange?
Almost always higher. Dealers price low because they need margin to resell. We're cash buyers reselling direct to UK and export — different pricing model.
