Sunflower Trucks Scania Buyers

What We Pay For

Scania has strong demand from both UK and export buyers. Opticruise gearboxes, V8 engines, Highline and Topline cabs — these are the specs that hold their money. We understand the Scania market and we price properly. High kilometres, mechanical issues, body damage — send photos and we will come back with a serious offer. Nearly new fleet units to older workhorses — we buy both.

Why Operators Sell Direct To Us

Auctions take time and cost money. Dealer routes are selective. We offer a direct alternative — one conversation, straight offer, done. Price agreed is price paid. No renegotiation on collection day. Whether you are moving on a single Scania or clearing a fleet — we handle both the same way. Fast. Simple. Straight.

Scania Models We Buy

Scania R-series — the long-haul flagship. We buy R 410, 450, 500, 540, 580, 620, 730 across Highline and Topline cabs. Topline cab is the premium — bigger, better resale. Opticruise gearbox is standard, V8 730 hp units are export gold. DC13 Euro 6 engines run reliably past 1 million km when serviced.

Scania S-series — the new flagship from 2018. S 450, 500, 540, 580, 650, 730. Flat-floor cab carries a real premium. We buy late-spec S-series weekly for UK and export.

Scania G-series — the all-rounder. G 280, 320, 370, 410, 450, 500 hp across 6x2, 8x4, tractor configurations. Tipper, mixer, hookloader, refuse, refrigerated all welcome. Day cab and CrewCab versions especially in demand.

Scania P-series — the urban distribution range. P 220, 250, 280, 320, 370 hp. Box trucks, curtainsiders, refuse, fridges. Lower mileage Euro 6 units especially with Carrier or Thermo King fridges hold strong value.

What Makes a Scania Worth More

We don't lowball — but we DO assess realistically. Here's what bumps the price up on a Scania:

  • Lower kilometres for age — under 100k/year average is solid. A 5-year-old R-series with 400k km is worth more than a 5-year-old R with 700k km.
  • Service history with named Scania dealer — even partial. Buyers pay extra for confidence.
  • Topline or Highline cab — bigger cab equals more value, especially for export.
  • Opticruise gearbox — smooth shifts, no fault codes adds real money.
  • V8 engine (730 hp) — export buyers pay a premium for V8s, especially R 730 and S 730.
  • Recent MOT and tax — saves the next owner time. Adds a few hundred typically.
  • Scania Driver Support, Active Prediction, retarder — modern spec moves trucks faster.
  • One-owner units — even if high mileage, single-owner trucks command premium.
  • Recent EGR or AdBlue service — known wear area, recent paperwork de-risks the buy.

Common Scania Faults We Still Buy

Don't bin a truck because something's broken. We buy Scania trucks with:

  • EGR cooler leaks — common on DC13 Euro 6. Workshop fix factored into our offer.
  • AdBlue dosing module faults — typical 300k-500k km issue. Doesn't put us off.
  • DPF regen problems — forced regen needed, blocked filter. We still pay properly.
  • Opticruise clutch wear — jerky engagement after 600k km, fixable.
  • Turbo failures — particularly DC13 early Euro 6. We buy non-runners weekly.
  • SCR system warnings — NOx sensor faults, dosing valve failures. None of it stops us buying.
  • Cab tilt or hydraulic issues — pump leaks, slow tilt. Small fix, full price still possible.
  • Accident damage — front-end, side, rear, even rollover. We price the salvage value properly.
  • Non-runners parked up for months — flat batteries, seized brakes. We collect.

Send photos by WhatsApp or email — we'll come back with a price within hours.

Why Scania Holds Value

Scania is the premium UK HGV brand. That premium positioning translates into stronger resale than most competitors.

Parts availability. The Scania dealer network covers the UK and Europe densely. Replacement parts are everywhere, repair costs stay reasonable, demand stays strong.

Export demand. Scania trucks ship in volume to Africa, Pakistan, Eastern Europe and the Middle East — especially V8 R-series and S-series. We deal with export buyers daily.

Driver demand. Drivers ask for Scanias. Premium cab, smooth Opticruise, the V8 sound — fleet operators pay extra to buy used Scanias because driver retention matters.

Long engine life. DC13 Euro 6 engines run reliably to 1 million km when serviced. Even high-mileage units have years of life left, which keeps resale strong.

Scania Truck Buyer FAQs

How quickly can you collect my Scania?
Same day in some cases, usually within 48-72 hours of price agreed. Free collection from anywhere in mainland UK.

Will you buy a Scania that won't start?
Yes. Non-runners, turbo failures, EGR faults, suspected gearbox — we buy all of it. Send photos and a description.

Do you only buy newer Scanias?
No — we buy Scania trucks from 2010 onwards in the right condition. Older trucks if they're spec we can move (export market).

What if my Scania has been off the road for months?
Doesn't matter. Most parked-up trucks just need a battery and a fluid check. We've collected Scanias that haven't moved in 2+ years.

Can you buy a fleet of Scanias in one go?
Yes — we regularly buy 5-50 trucks from operators downsizing or restructuring. Single price for the lot, collected over a week.

What documents do I need?
V5C (logbook) is essential. MOT certificate and service history help us value better but aren't mandatory. We handle the change-of-ownership paperwork.

How do you price a Scania compared to part-exchange?
Almost always higher. Dealers price low because they need margin to resell. We're cash buyers reselling direct to UK and export — different pricing model.
