DAF Models We Buy
DAF XF — the king of UK long-haul. We buy XF 460, 480, 510 and the newer 530 hp Euro 6 units. Globetrotter and Globetrotter XL Space Cab spec carries a real premium — and we price them properly. SuperSpaceCab is rarer but in strong export demand. ZF TraXon gearboxes are bread-and-butter, manual boxes still find buyers in tipper spec. MX-13 Euro 6 engines run reliably to 1 million km — we buy these every week.
DAF CF — the workhorse rigid. CF 220, 290, 330, 370, 410 across 6x2, 8x4 and tractor configurations. Construction-spec tippers, hookloaders, RoRo carriers, refuse spec. CF 410 with manual gearbox still sought after for tipper applications. Day cab or Sleeper cab — both find buyers in UK and export markets.
DAF LF — the urban distribution truck. LF 150, 180, 210, 250, 290 hp. Euro 6 LFs in good condition still hold strong value especially as box trucks, curtainsiders and tippers up to 18 tonnes. Refrigerated LFs (especially with Carrier or Thermo King fridge units) move quickly to UK and export buyers alike.
DAF XG and XG+ — the new flagship range from 2022 onwards. We buy these, but pricing reflects the small UK pool. End-of-contract XGs are starting to come off lease now and we're competitive on those.
What Makes a DAF Worth More
We don't lowball — but we DO assess realistically. Here's what bumps the price up on a DAF:
- Lower kilometres for age — under 100k/year average is solid. A 5-year-old XF with 400k km is worth more than a 5-year-old XF with 700k km.
- Service history with named DAF dealer — even partial. Buyers pay extra for confidence.
- Globetrotter or XL Space Cab — bigger cab = more value, especially for export.
- Recent MOT and tax — saves the next owner time. Adds a few hundred typically.
- I-Park Cool, fridge or sleeper extras — quality of life features add real money.
- One-owner units — even if high mileage, single-owner trucks command premium.
- Recent EGR or DPF service — known problem area, recent service paperwork de-risks the buy.
Common DAF Faults We Still Buy
Don't bin a truck because something's broken. We buy DAF trucks with:
- DPF regeneration issues — common on MX-13 and MX-11 engines. Forced regen needed, blocked DPF, P2002 fault codes — we still pay properly.
- AdBlue pump or sensor failures — typical 200k-400k km issue. Easy fix for a truck dealer, doesn't put us off.
- EGR cooler leaks — common DAF issue from 2015 Euro 6 onwards. Workshop cost to fix is real, we factor it into our offer.
- Turbo failures (MX-13) — particularly on early Euro 6 units. We buy non-running trucks all the time.
- Engine warning lights — even if you don't know why, send photos and we'll work it out.
- Accident damage — front-end, side, even rollover damage. We price the salvage value properly.
- Cab damage or interior wear — paint, seats, electrics — none of it stops us buying.
- Non-runners parked up for months — flat batteries, seized brakes, even partially stripped trucks.

Why DAF Holds Value
DAF is the most common HGV brand on UK roads. That's not just a stat — it's why DAF holds resale value better than most.
Parts availability. The DAF dealer network is dense across the UK and Europe. Replacement parts are everywhere, second-hand and new. Repair costs stay reasonable, which keeps demand strong.
Export demand. DAF trucks ship in volume to Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. We deal with export buyers daily and that gives us a stronger price floor than UK-only buyers can offer.
Operator familiarity. Drivers know DAFs, mechanics know DAFs, fleet managers know DAFs. Buying a used DAF is a low-risk decision for the next owner. That demand pushes prices up.

How quickly can you collect my DAF?

Will you buy a DAF that won't start?

Do you only buy newer DAFs?
No — we buy DAF trucks from 2010 onwards in the right condition. Older trucks if they're spec we can move (export market).
What if my DAF has been off the road for months?
Doesn't matter. Most parked-up trucks just need a battery and a fluid check. We've collected DAFs that haven't moved in 2+ years.
Can you buy a fleet of DAFs in one go?
Yes — we regularly buy 5-50 trucks from operators downsizing or restructuring. Single price for the lot, collected over a week.
What documents do I need?
V5C (logbook) is essential. MOT certificate and service history help us value better but aren't mandatory. We handle the change-of-ownership paperwork.
How do you price a DAF compared to part-exchange?
